1. Wax Pattern Creation
Our investment casting adventure begins with the meticulous artistry of wax pattern creation. With great expertise, artisans inject premium wax into meticulously engineered aluminum molds, crafted to mirror the exact shape and dimensions of the final masterpiece. These wax models form the crucial blueprint and cornerstone for the entire casting process. The calibre and precision of the wax pattern are essential, directly influencing the ultimate brilliance of the metal component.
2. Assembly
In the assembly phase, each uniquely crafted wax pattern is expertly attached to a central wax sprue, forming what is known as a pattern assembly or wax tree. This integral sprue is the conduit through which molten metal will seamlessly flow to fill the intricately designed cavities. Ensuring precise alignment and secure attachment of wax patterns to the sprue is vital for flawless execution.
3. Shell Building

4. Dewaxing
Upon completion of the ceramic shell, the pivotal dewaxing step begins. The ceramic-encased assembly is placed in a specialized furnace under high heat, causing the wax to melt and evacuate, hence the term 'lost-wax casting.' The result is a hollow ceramic mold, with intricately defined cavities mirroring the original wax patterns, primed to welcome molten metal.
5. Burnout/Preheating
Following dewaxing, the ceramic mold enters the burnout phase, where it is subjected to intense heat. This stage eliminates any residual wax, hardens the ceramic, and primes it for the critical pouring stage. Preheating is essential, ensuring the molten metal fills the cavities smoothly and minimizes defects. Once preheated, the mold is perfectly poised for its molten metal debut.
6. Pouring
The pouring stage is the heart of investment casting. Here, meticulously selected molten metal is poured into the preheated ceramic mold, seamlessly filling every intricate corner. As the metal cools and solidifies, it takes on the precise form of the original wax patterns, bringing the envisioned metal component to vibrant life. 7. Shell Removal

8. Cut-off
Once the shell is meticulously removed, the individual metal castings are expertly separated from the central sprue using specialized saws or cutting tools. This critical separation process is executed with exceptional precision, ensuring a clean and accurate cut that prepares the metal component perfectly for further processing.
9. Finishing
The culminating phase of the investment casting process involves meticulous finishing operations tailored to meet the precise specifications of each component. Depending on its intended application, an array of sophisticated finishing techniques may be employed. For example, heat treatment may be applied to enhance the mechanical properties of the metal, bolstering its strength and hardness. CNC machining offers the finesse required for achieving exact dimensions and precise tolerances. To cleanse the surface and attain a smooth, refined finish, shot blasting is often performed. Polishing follows, imbuing the component with a bright, flawless, and visually appealing surface appearance.
